Amnesty International: Roma-Kinder in Tschechien werden weiterhin systematisch diskriminiert
Berlin, 13.1.2010 – Roma-Kinder werden in vielen Orten Tschechiens in Sonderschulen für Kinder mit „leichter geistiger Behinderung“ eingeschult. Sie erhalten so nur eine Schulbildung niederen Standards. Diese menschenrechtswidrige systematische Diskriminierung der Roma hat Amnesty International in einem gestern veröffentlichten Bericht scharf kritisiert. Amnesty fordert, die diskriminierende Sonderbehandlung von Roma-Kindern zu beenden und gesetzliche Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, die diese Trennung im Schulsystem zukünftig verhindern.
Bereits im November 2007 hatte der Europäische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte (EGMR) festgestellt, dass Roma-Kinder in Tschechien in ihrem Recht auf Bildung verletzt würden, da viele aufgrund ihrer Herkunft auf Sonderschulen geschickt werden. Der EGMR verpflichtete die Regierung, Gegenmaßnahmen zu ergreifen. Dennoch hat sich die Situation in den vergangenen zwei Jahren kaum verbessert; die Diskriminierung geht weiter.
„Trotz nationaler und internationaler Kritik hört die systematische Diskriminierung von Roma-Kindern im tschechischen Schulwesen nicht auf“, sagt Imke Dierßen, Europareferentin von Amnesty International Deutschland. „Bildung ist ein Menschenrecht und notwendig, um sich von Armut und sozialer Ausgrenzung zu befreien.“ In einigen Orten machen Roma bis zu 80 Prozent der Schüler an „Praxisgrundschulschulen“ aus – so heißen die Sonderschulen seit 2005 offiziell.
