Akion gegen Vorurteile: Roma haben eine reichhaltige Kultur
Obwohl die Dortmunder Nordstadt schon lange ein Integrationsstadtteil ist, wird die Diskussion zum Thema Zuwanderung aus Südosteuropa häufig defizitär geführt, ohne auf die Bedürfnisse der Zugewanderten sowie die Ressourcen, die sie mitbringen, zu achten. Zudem wird häufig über und nicht mit den Menschen geredet. Die gesellschaftliche Folge sind verstärkte Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung. Beim Festival DJELEM DJELEM, welches den Namen der internationalen Roma-Hymne trägt, wird das Thema aus einer positiven Perspektive heraus betrachtet: Die Dortmunder Aufnahmegesellschaft wie auch Neuzuwanderer verschiedenster Herkunftsländer bekommen durch dieses Festival die Gelegenheit, Theater und Musik, Lebensweisen und Speisen – kurzum die vielen Facetten der reichen Roma-Kultur(en) – zu erfahren und zu genießen. In der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung in Dortmund sollen somit die kulturellen Aspekte der Zuwanderung mit ihren positiven Facetten der Herkunftskulturen in den Vordergrund gerückt werden.
Unterschiedliche Veranstaltungen: Von Fortbildungen bis zum Familienfest auf dem Nordmarkt
Die Angebotspallette reicht dabei von Podiumsdiskussion und Fortbildung für Fachkräfte aus dem sozialen Bereich über Musik, Theater und Film bis hin zum Familienfest auf dem Nordmarkt. Los geht es am Donnerstag, 18. September, mit der Kick-Off-Veranstaltung auf dem Schulhof der Nordmarktgrundschule. Um den hier zugewanderten Kindern ein Stück Willkommenskultur zu vermitteln und Diskriminierung entgegenzuwirken, findet symbolisch – um 5 vor 12 – ein Luftballonwettbewerb unter dem Motto „Willkommen zu Hause“ statt.
Ziel: Nicht nur über, sondern auch mit Neuzuwanderern sprechen
Am selben Tag findet um 18 Uhr eine Podiumsdiskussion in der Auslandsgesellschaft statt, die sich unter der Einbeziehung der Neuzuwanderer und ihrer Vereine mit Empowerment und Selbstorganisation beschäftigt und Vorbehalten und Berührungsängsten positive Beispiele entgegengestellt.
