In beiden Interviews betont er, dass im Bereich des Kinderhandels sowohl die Täter als auch die Opfer überwiegend Roma/Romnja sind. Diese Problematik zu benennen ist grundsätzlich nichts Schlechtes, die Frage ist nur, wie dies passiert. Besonders in der FAZ spricht Ceipek in verallgemeinernder Weise über „Roma-Clans“, wodurch der Eindruck entsteht, alle Roma-Familien in Rumänien wären in solchen „Clans“ organisiert. Drastisch erzählt er von extremem Reichtum auf der einen Seite und vom Elend auf der anderen. Diese Ungleichheit gibt es – aber wieso wird bei Roma/Romnija immer angenommen, sie wären über kriminelle Aktivitäten reich geworden? Vielleicht weil es nicht in das stereotype Bild von den Roma-Elendssiedlungen im „Osten“ passt? Auch Roma und Romnija sind quer durch alle sozialen Schichten vertreten und z. B. auch als Ärzte, Sozialarbeiter oder in anderen Berufen erfolgreich tätig. Sie aber werden nicht als Roma wahrgenommen.
