Musikschule für Roma- und Sintimusik in Wien: Eröffnung im Oktober 2011 – Probebetrieb ab sofort

Endlich ist es soweit, die Musikschule für Roma- und Sintimusik in Wien, die Vienna Gipsy Music School nimmt Gestalt an! Der Verein Romano Centro, der sich bereits seit einigen Jahren um die Gründung dieser Musikschule bemüht, hat die geplante Errichtung der Schule angezeigt. Im Oktober soll der ordentliche Unterricht sowohl in verschiedenen Roma- und Sinti-Musikstilen als auch in klassischer Musik beginnen. In der VGMS sollen möglichst viele Instrumente und Stilrichtungen der Roma-Musik angeboten werden, begonnen wird mit Unterricht in Violine, Gitarre, Akkordeon, Klavier und Gesang, ergänzt durch Musikkunde, die sich speziell auch der Musik der in Wien lebenden Roma- und Sintigruppen widmet. Erster Standort der Schule ist das Amerlinghaus, bis zum Beginn des ordentlichen Unterrichts im Herbst sollen weitere Standorte in Wien hinzukommen.
Schon jetzt kann Unterricht in Roma- und Sintimusik genommen werden, es werden Kurse (Einzelunterricht) und Wochenendworkshops (Gruppe) angeboten:

„Camarón“: Ausstellung in der neu eröffneten Galerie Kai Dikhas in Berlin
Kai Dikhas bedeutet auf Romanes „Ort des Sehens“. Jenseits aller exotisch‐romantischen Klischees und Stereotypen erhalten in der Galerie Kai Dikhas im Aufbauhaus ab Frühjahr 2011 Roma‐Künstler einen professionellen Ort zur Präsentation ihrer Kunst. Dieser neu in Berlin gegründete künstlerische Freiraum ist die erste permanente Galerie, die sich der oft unbekannten Kunst der Sinti und Roma in ständig wechselnden Ausstellungen widmet und sie in all ihren Facetten auslotet. Mit den Werken der international renommierten Malerin Lita Cabellut (geb. 1961 in Barcelona) eröffnet die Galerie Kai Dikhas ihr Ausstellungsprogramm. Die Künstlerin widmet sich in ihrer neuesten Serie großformatiger Gemälde dem berühmten spanischen Flamenco‐Sänger Camarón de la Isla. Die Schwestern Simonida und Sandra Selimović haben in Wien gemeinsam den Verein „Romano Svato“ („Sprache/Zunge der Roma“) gegründet, um sich in Zukunft um ihre eigenen Theaterstücke zu kümmern. Die Schwestern sammelten bereits Erfahrung in den Theaterstücken von Regisseurin Tina Leisch, die sie auch dazu motivierte, jetzt erstmals eigenständig ihre eigene Inszenierung zu wagen. Simonida und Sandra Selimović haben sich für ihr erstes Theater-Projekt die Geschichte des Sinti-Boxers Johann „Rukeli“ Trollmann auserkoren. Die dramatische Geschichte, die sich während des Nationalsozialismus zugetragen hat, ist nicht ohne Grund legendär. Alexandra Bader, Journalistin und Herausgeberin von www.ceiberweiber.at, hat im Rahmen einer Veranstaltung in Wien mit Emmerich Gärtner-Horvath gesprochen und dies zum Anlass genommen, in einem ausführlichen Artikel über die Anliegen und Aktivitäten unseres Vereins Roma-Service zu berichten:
Roma sollen sich ihrer Geschichte bewusst werden, gerade auch in der schmerzlichen Zeit des Nationalsozialismus – das ist eines der Anliegen des Roma-Service. Die Organisation tourt mit einem Bus durch das gesamte Burgenland, kommt aber auch in die Steiermark oder nach Wien. Der Bus macht Station, um Roma zu informieren, oder führt zu Veranstaltungen wie der Donaufriedenswelle am 17. Februar 2011 in der Wiener Donaucitykirche. Hier befasste sich einer der Workshops mit der Situation der Roma, und ich hatte Gelegenheit, mit Emmerich Gärtner-Horvath, dem Obmann des Roma-Service zu sprechen.
„Die Generation, die zwischen 1926 und 1930 geboren ist, setzt sich am meisten mit der Vergangenheit auseinander“, sagt er. Seiner Erfahrung nach verdrängen besonders jene Roma, die zwischen 1950 und 1960 geboren wurden. Für sie ist das alles vorbei, vor ihrer Geburt geschehen, also meinen sie, es müsste sie nicht interessieren. „Aber die Geschichte wirkt nach, es gibt Menschen, die nicht wissen, wo ihre Angehörigen gestorben sind, Menschen, denen man die Kinder weggenommen hat, die nie erfahren haben, was aus ihnen wurde.“ Das Roma-Service kommt in Schulen und spricht mit den 16-, 17-Jährigen, „die dann nach Hause gehen, und da serviert man ihnen eine andere Wahrheit. Wem sollen sie dann glauben, dem Mann, der ihnen etwas erzählt hat, oder ihren Eltern, denen sie vertrauen?!“

Das ungarische Trainigsprogramm „Amenca“ („Mit uns“) ist bemüht, junge arbeitslose Roma zu Medienmitarbeitern auszubilden und dadurch auch die größte Minderheit Ungarns in die etablierten Redaktionen einbinden zu können, erklärt der Leiter János Joka Daróczi. Drei Stiftungen, die Roma-Produktionsstiftung, Partners Hungary und das Roma-Presse-Zentrum, beteiligen sich an diesem Programm, das Teil einer EU-Ausschreibung ist. János Daróczi, Mitarbeiter beim ungarischen öffentlich-rechtlichen TV-Sender MTV und Leiter des Roma-Trainigsprogramms Amenca ist zu Gast in der heutigen Ausgabe von „Stadtmagazin“.
Zurzeit nehmen insgesamt zwölf Jugendliche am Amenca-Trainigsprogramm teil. Unter anderem wird durch unterschiedliche Mittel versucht, den Teilnehmern zu vermitteln, wie mit gesellschaftlichen Problemen in den Medien umgegangen wird. Die kommende Jahrestagung der traditionsreichen Forschungsgesellschaft Gypsy Lore Society findet – nach Washington (2008), Helsinki (2009) und Lissabon (2010) – im September 2011 in Graz statt. Organisiert wird das Treffen von unserem Verein Roma-Service und unseren österreichischen Partner-Einrichtungen [spi:k] und Romano Centro. Im Anschluss die englische Aussendung samt Call for Papers:
The 2011 Annual Meeting and Conference on Gypsy Studies will be held at the European Centre for Modern Languages, Graz, Austria, September 1 to 3, 2011. The meeting is being organized on behalf of the Gypsy Lore Society by [spi:k] (Sprache, Identität, Kultur), an Austrian association dedicated to the documentation of minority cultures and languages, and two Austrian Roma organisations, Romano Centro and Roma-Service. More information about the conference will be published on the Gypsy Lore Society web site.
Call for Papers: Papers on any aspect of Gypsy Studies are welcome, but substantive scholarly papers will be given priority. Papers should be 20 minutes long with an additional 10 minutes allotted for discussion. Abstracts should be submitted no later than March 15, 2011. Notification of acceptance will be announced by May 15, 2011.
