„Kein Wahlkampf zu Lasten der Minderheit“

Romani-RoseVor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Kampagne gegen eine angeb­lich über Deutsch­land herein­brechende Flutwelle osteu­ro­päischer „Armuts­einwan­derer“ (sprich: Roma) richtet der Zentralrat Deutscher Sinti und Roma heute folgenden Appell an den deutschen Bundes­präsi­denten Joachim Gauck und an Innen­minister Hans-Peter Friedrich:

Bundespräsident möge Parteien auf­for­dern: Wahl­kampf nicht zu Lasten der Min­derheit

Bundesinnenminister Dr. Friedrich soll die Situa­tion in den Her­kunfts­ländern beim Tref­fen der Euro­päischen Innen­minister nach­drück­lich ansprechen

Der Zentralrat Deutscher Sinti und Roma ist be­sorgt über die zuneh­mend aggres­siv geführte Debatte über die Zuwanderungen vorwie­gend aus Bul­garien und Rumä­nien, die inzwi­schen droht, zum Wahlkampf­thema zu werden. Der Zentral­rats­vor­sitzende Romani Rose wandte sich deshalb heute mit einem Schreiben an Bundes­präsi­dent Joachim Gauck mit der Bitte, einen Appell an die demokra­tischen Par­teien zu richten, die ausschließ­lich gegen Roma und Sinti gerich­teten Diskus­sionen über Krimi­nalität und Armuts­flücht­linge nicht weiter zum Wahlkampfthema zu machen. Durch diese Diskus­sion werde unsere Minder­heit pauschal zu einer „öffent­lichen Gefahr“ erklärt und dadurch öffentlich gebrand­markt und massiv stigmatisiert, so Rose.

Der neue Populismus in Deutsch­land, der von Politi­kern betrie­ben werde, und der Vorwürfe von „Betrug bei Sozial­leistun­gen“ und „Mißbrauch der Frei­zügig­keit“ bis hin zu „Asylmiß­brauch“ und „Krimina­lität“ erhebe, werde in der Öffent­lichkeit aus­schlie­ßlich auf Angehö­rige der Roma bezogen. Roma werden in der Folge dieser deutschen Diskussion bereits jetzt in ihren Herkunftsländern von Politikern und Medien zu Sündenböcken für die Verzögerungen bei den Verhand­lungen über die Erweiterung des Schengen-Abkom­mens beziehungs­weise bei den Beitritts­verhand­lungen gemacht. Dadurch verschärft sich die Lage der Roma weiter durch erneute Ausgren­zung und Dis­kriminierung.
