Nadine Papai: Eine bewusste Romni
„Während meiner Studienzeit war ich oft im Burgenland bei meinen Verwandten. Dort führte ich viele Gespräche mit meinem Onkel, denn die bewegende Geschichte meiner Volksgruppe hat mich immer interessiert“, sagt Nadine Papai, frischgebackene Geschäftsführerin der Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker Österreich. Die junge Romni Nadine Papai beschäftigt sich seit ihrem Studium intensiv mit ihrer Volksgruppe. Deshalb hat sie auch schon eine längere Zeit eine Funktion im Vorstand des Vereins Romano Centro in Wien inne. „Wir müssen aber noch etliches tun, damit sich die Situation für die Volksgruppe der Roma verbessert“, so Papai weiter.
„erinnern.at“ — Seit dem Jahr 2000 unterstützt der Verein „erinnern.at“ Lehrer mit dem Ziel, das Lernen über den Holocaust und Nationalsozialismus auch für die Gegenwart relevant zu machen, sagt Werner Dreier. Wichtig ist aber auch, Verantwortung zu erkennen, historisches Wissen zu vermitteln und methodisch-didaktische Kompetenzen zu entwickeln, so Dreier weiter.
