Der Europäische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte (ECHR) hat Kroatien wegen der Diskriminierung von Roma-Kindern verurteilt (hier das Urteil im Wortlaut). Das Gericht in Straßburg verpflichtete die Regierung in Zagreb zur Zahlung von jeweils 4.500 Euro Schadensersatz an 15 Kläger, die als Kinder zwischen 1996 und 2000 in getrennte Grundschulklassen für die Roma-Minderheit gesteckt wurden. Diese Absonderung habe allein auf der ethnischen Zugehörigkeit beruht und damit die Menschenrechte der heute erwachsenen Kläger verletzt, urteilte das Gericht.
