Gilda Horvath besuchte den seit sechs Jahren bestehenden Verein nun im neu bezogenen Vereinslokal im 15. Wiener Gemeindebezirk (Selzergasse 34, 1150 Wien). Der Verein „Im Ausland“ (siehe auch hier), getragen von der Sozialarbeiterin Elisabeth Ettmann und dem Diplompsychologen Đjurica Nikolić, legt Unterstützung in sozialen Fragen breit an. Das Angebot reicht von Beratungsgesprächen zu den Themen Gesundheit, Ernährung, familiäre Probleme über psychosoziale Betreuung in schwierigen Lebenslagen bis zur Unterstützung bei der Durchsetzung von Rechtsansprüchen und beim Ausfüllen von Formularen. „Für Arbeitslose, MigrantInnen oder aus anderen Gründen an den Rand der Gesellschaft gedrängte Personen entscheidet der Zugang zu Informationen über das österreichische Sozial- und Gesundheitssystem, ob sie ihre Grundbedürfnisse befriedigen können.
