Im Dezember informierten sechs Roma-Medizinstudentinnen und -studenten die Passanten in Bukarests Innenstadt, wie man der Grippe und Erkältungskrankheiten am besten begegnet. Ehemalige Stipendiaten arbeiten heute bei der Weltbank, in den besten Krankenhäusern Europas oder in Klinken bei ihren eigenen Communities. Allmählich können Roma ihre Minderheit jetzt auch in Europas medizinischer Elite wiederfinden, und medizinisch Tätige können sich nun besser mit Roma identifizieren – sowohl als Patienten als auch als Mitarbeitern.
In Rumänien haben unsere Kollegen von der Partnerorganisation ActiveWatch eine Medienkampagne geschaffen, um weit verbreiteten Missverständnissen über Roma etwas entgegenzusetzen. Das hier gezeigte Video ist nur ein Teil der Kreativkampagne der Roma, mit der sie die Bilder, die man sich von ihrer Community macht, neu fassen wollen.
