Ratfale Jasfa (Romani: „Tränen aus Blut“) ist ein Gedicht der Roma-Dich­te­rin Papusza (Bronisława Wajs), die die deut­sche Besatzung und den Zwei­ten Weltkrieg in Wolhynien, heute Teil der Ukraine, über­lebte. Es ist zu­gleich eines der frühes­ten be­kann­ten Zeug­nisse einer Über­lebenden des Roma-Völker­mords und einer Ro­ma-Frau. Dieses Buch stellt das kürz­lich wieder­ent­deckte Manu­skript vor, das viermal so lang ist wie der bisher be­kannte Text. Der Band enthält eine Trans­kription des Gedichts auf Romani, eine Über­setzung ins Englische, umfang­reiche histo­risch-phi­lolo­gische Kom­men­tare sowie eigen­stän­dige Kapitel über die Dichterin, das Manuskript und den histo­ri­schen Kontext.

Ratfale Jasfa (Romani: ‘Tears of Blood’) is a poem by the Romani poet Papusza (Bronis­ława Wajs) who sur­vived the German occu­pation and the Second World War in Volhynia, cur­rently Ukraine. It is also one of the earliest known testi­monies by a Romani geno­cide survivor and a Romani woman. This book intro­duces the recently re-dis­covered manu­script which is four times longer than the pre­viously known text. The volume in­cludes a transcript of the poem in Romani, a translation into English, exten­sive histori­cal-philo­logi­cal commen­taries, along­side stand-alone chapters on the poet, manuscript and the historical context.
