Zeichen der Wertschätzung — „Eine enge und gute Zusammenarbeit ist der Schlüssel für eine bessere Zukunft“, erklärte Margit Fischer in ihrer Begrüßungsrede und betonte damit, wie bedeutsam ein „friedvoller Dialog für die Zukunft der Roma-Vereinsarbeit“ sei. Es war ein Abendessen im Zeichen des Dialogs, organisiert von der Volkshilfe Österreich (VHÖ). Erstmals traf die Frau des Bundespräsidenten Margit Fischer in dieser Form mit Roma-Aktivisten zusammen. „Ich bin sehr dankbar für die Anwesenheit von Margit Fischer. Es ist ein Zeichen der Wertschätzung“, sagte Jasmina Pavlović vom Roma-Verein „Vida Pavlović“.
Verena Fabris von der Volkshilfe Österreich erklärte in ihrer Eingangsrede, dass dieser Abend auch für die Nachhaltigkeit des Engagements der VHÖ für Roma-Themen stehe. Dieses Jahr soll zudem zum ersten Mal der „THARA-Biznis Preis“ an Unternehmer verliehen werden. Erich Fenninger, Geschäftsführer der Volkshilfe Österreich, war am Ende des Dialog-Abends sehr zufrieden. „So ein Treffen wäre in vielen Ländern undenkbar.
