In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Sprachwissenschaften der Universität Graz hat im Jahr 1994 die Kodifizierung und Didaktisierung des Burgenland-Roman begonnen. Ziel des Projekts war und ist es, das Roman (Romani-Variante der Burgenland-Roma) soweit zu bearbeiten, dass es der Volksgruppe möglich ist, dem drohenden Sprachtod und dem damit verbundenen Identitätsverlust entgegenzuwirken. Dazu sind Verschriftlichungen, Erstellung von Grammatik, ein Wörterbuch sowie Text- und Lehrmaterialien für den Roman-Unterricht Voraussetzung.
Aufgrund der bisherigen Publikationen hat sich der Status des Roman in der Öffentlichkeit zu einer gleichberechtigt anerkannten österreichischen Volksgruppensprache gewandelt. In nächster Zukunft wird eine neue Publikation am Markt erscheinen. Ein Wörterbuch, in dem neben dem Roman die verschiedensten Bezeichnungen in deutscher und englischer Sprache nachzulesen sein werden.
