Im Interview mit Gilda Horvath erzählt Rudolf Sarközi in Radio Kaktus von der Stimmung gegenüber Roma in Europa, seinem Besuch in der ungarischen Botschaft sowie von den Vorbereitungen zum 20-jährigen Jubiläum des Kulturvereins Österreichischer Roma (Website). „Es ist höchste Zeit, den Roma einen rechtmäßigen Platz in der Gesellschaft zu geben“, erklärte Rudolf Sarközi in seiner Rede bei der 20. Sitzung des Kongresses der Gemeinden und Regionen Europas im Europarat in Straßburg. Vor kurzem besuchte er die ungarische Botschaft – und stellt ernüchtert fest: „Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob die Ankündigten der Regierung auch umgesetzt werden.“ Zudem bereitet sich der Kulturverein Österreichischer Roma gerade auf das bevorstehende 20-jährige Jubiläum vor: Anlässlich des 20-jährigen Vereinsjubiläums hat der Kulturverein ein Buch (Bildband, 152 Seiten, Text: Deutsch/Englisch) und eine DVD erstellt, die zwei Jahrzehnte erfolgreiche Roma-Politik in Österreich dokumentieren.
