So wurde die Zahl der Sonderschüler stetig abgebaut.
„Anschläge in den Nachbarländern sind nicht auszuschließen“, meint der Historiker und Journalist Gerhard Baumgartner. Die Situation in Österreich habe sich zwar nach dem Attentat gebessert, da „die gesamte Politik erstmals auf der Seite der Roma stand – nicht auf jener der Täter“. Besonders in Ungarn sieht Baumgartner die Situation jedoch skeptisch.
